Series and Special Projects
Below are some examples of special projects and series I produced at NHPR.
The Exchange: Live From Home
Four-part virtual event series in the summer of 2020, built in-house through multiCAM RADIO and broadcast on Zoom webinar and Facebook Live. The audio version of each program aired on NHPR two days later.
I pitched, booked, produced, and directed this 4-part series. Engineering by RJ Perkins and digital by Sara Plourde. Marketing by Patricia McLaughlin, underwriting by Tom Brady.
COVID-19 Public Health Updates: Interviews with N.H. State Epidemiologists
Since March 2020, I produced/directed monthly/bi-monthly hour-long interviews with our state’s epidemiologist and deputy epidemiologist, with social media and audience engagement by Zoey Knox.
2020 Elections - Down Ballot
In the lead up to the 2020 election, I produced a series of segments on the Weekly New Hampshire News Roundup, The Exchange’s regular news round-table discussion, on local elected officials: What power does each office hold, who runs, and why?
I made digital FAQs on nhpr.org, and social media posts, seen left, to accompany each on-air segment.
Live Broadcast Event: How Should New Hampshire Schools Fund Public Education?
As part of NHPR education reporter Sarah Gibson’s series, “Adequate,” about how the state of New Hampshire pays for public education, I produced and directed a live broadcast event before a studio audience at NHPR.
Engineering by RJ Perkins, marketing by Patricia McLaughlin and Sarah Burke, underwriting by Tim Brady, production assistance by Michael Brindley.
Going Local: Exploring New Hampshire’s Regions
In the summer of 2018, I produced and directed a 7-part series that explored the unique challenges, and attractions, of New Hampshire’s seven regions, with guests that lived and worked in that part of the state.
The series culminated with a show in the Monadnock region that broadcast live on NHPR from Keene State College in front of an audience. Audience members asked questions of our panelists during the program. Engineering by RJ Perkins and Andrew Parrella. Production coordination by Michael Brindley.
